Radar technology, crucial in WWII, relied on high-frequency electromagnetic waves to detect enemy planes. It later became the foundation for modern air traffic control and weather forecasting.

Before modern insulation, electrical wires were wrapped in cloth or even paper. Today's PVC and rubber coatings make wiring far safer.

Early telegraphs in the 1800s sent messages using electrical pulses, laying the groundwork for modern communication networks.

Nikola Tesla's alternating current (AC) system won the 'War of Currents' against Thomas Edison's direct current (DC), shaping how we power our homes today.

The first electronic computer, the Colossus, was built during WWII to crack German codes. It used nearly 2,500 vacuum tubes to process data at unprecedented speeds.

In the early days of electricity, people were afraid of light bulbs exploding -some even thought electric light could cause blindness!
